Friday Faves: Easter Prep Addition

TGIF! I'm bringing back my friday faves with the ultimate friday favorite!

This past Wednesday, the whole fam bam got together to dye easter eggs and decorate cookies. I'm calling this a "tradition" now because we've done it two years in a row! Here's last year's post about it!

This year everyone got to join in the fun. We set up an Easter Dying station and as soon as those were done, we swapped out for the cookie decorating. I got the most adorable Easter sprinkle kit from William Sonoma and used the same Target cookie cutters I bought last year. I couldn't find the same ones but these little Target bunny cookie cutters are pretty adorable!

I also made little party favors for everyone using a kit from Target and attaching the decorated bunnies to chocolate easter eggs a la costco.

It was a fun night!

Friday Faves!

TGIF! Today is a great day! It's my last day at my old job and the start of a fun weekend.

In standard Friday fashion, here's what I'm loving:

-one-

Breakfast with my favorite green masked avenger! This little super hero has me super excited for a weekend full of fun!

-two-

Saturday is the St. Paddy's day parade in our little city, so we're planning on taking L downtown to watch it. We might hit up Mobius as well because they're making Leprechaun traps with the little ones. L and I made one last weekend, but you can never have too many traps to try and catch those tricky Leprechauns! I think the Easter bunny is down at the mall too, so we may try and get a photo with him. Judging by our Santa attempt at Christmas though, I'm guessing this might not go down very well. We will see!

-three-

I mentioned in the Weekend Recap that L climbed out of his bed in the middle of the night and fell last weekend. I also mentioned that we went ahead and purchased his big boy bed, mattress and bedding. Everything is starting to arrive and I'm getting excited to show him his new big boy bed! I purchased the bedding from Target's new Pillowfort collection and will share photos soon! Time will only tell how the transition to big boy bed officially turns out. ;0p

I am having issues in the clothing department. Not good ones either. My clothes don't fit and the ones that do make me feel frumpy. I need to lose weight, but I also need to look decent/professional and so I went ahead and ordered a bunch of items from asos this week. Can't wait for them to arrive and hopefully for some of the items to fit decently!

-five-

I ordered girl scout cookies from a my girlfriend's daughter, and I'm feeling inspired by these cakes!! And this pie!! Bring on all the girl scout cookies!!!

Friday Faves

Friday faves are back! I skipped last week because I was flying down to Phoenix for the weekend, but I'm back and here is what I'm loving this week!

First up...my new look! Blog look that is. I posted about this yesterday so you can read all about it here.

I'm also loving that it's March. March means the official start of Spring (even if it's still cold here in the Inland Northwest), St. Paddy's Day and  Easter (this year!). Two holidays in the same month means lots of festive fun for me and my loved ones! We'll be heading down to the St. Paddy's day parade, making leprechaun traps in the hopes of catching a leprechaun (or maybe just some of his gold!), decorating Easter cookies and dying Easter eggs and we're probably going to try and set up little Easter Egg Hunt for Lincoln in our backyard this year! I may try and re-create these Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes too because they are literally the best thing I've ever eaten in my life!

And since I talked about St. Paddy's Day, you also know I'm super excited for Easter! I may have sent the Easter bunny an idea or two for my Easter basket this year including this waffle maker (our old one broke!) and this waffle mix (it feels so festive for Easter!).

I'm sure most of you have seen this, but I'm loving this video from Jamie Oliver tearing Trump or Drumpf apart!

Blue Apron Meals! I've written about these in the past, but we had another Blue Apron delivery come this week so meal planning has been a breeze! If you haven't tried it, I definitely recommend it! And if you want to try it out for free, let me know! I have 4 free meals to give away!

Finally, I have some exciting news to share! Not only did this little ol' blog of mine get a new look, but I got a new job! I start mid-March and I'm pretty excited about this next move. It's a step up for me professionally, and it also means I no longer need to commute as far which means more time to spend with my little family!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

xoxo,

Meghan

Friday Faves

It's time for some Friday Favorites!

First off...I'm loving the "Born Lucky" jammies I picked up at the Gap for little man to serve as both his St. Paddy's Day and Easter jammies! They are seriously the cutest and everything is 40% off at the Gap if you use the code SWEET.

I'm also loving this photo that you already saw if you follow me on instagram (meghan_alexander) of my two favorite boys twinning in their striped sweaters and blue khakis! I have the two most adorable men in my life!

We're having a little mommy and me play-date this weekend at my house and I get to meet my girlfriend's newest little bundle of joy! I can't wait to have a newborn in my arms again and I'm sure it will send my ovaries into overdrive ;0p

Finally, I'm heading to Arizona next week to visit one of my besties for her birthday and I cannot wait to get some SUNSHINE on my pale pale skin. I wouldn't be mad if I came back with a sunburn, not even a little bit!

Happy Friday friends!

Friday Faves

It's time for some of my favorite things this week! I started this a couple of weeks ago, and it's basically a place for me to recap all of the things I'm loving this week.

Here we go!

First, I'm most excited for a long weekend! It's President's day on Monday which means both Kevin and I get the day off from work/school and any weekend with an extra day in it is a good thing!

Also this weekend...Valentine's Day! If you haven't picked something up for the love-bugs in your life, here's a gift guide for her and him for some last minute ideas! When in doubt, flowers and chocolate are always a good idea.

Lent started on Wednesday, and this year I'm choosing to give up dairy. Say goodbye to latte's and more importantly cheese! I am a sucker for cheese and put it on top of everything so this is going to be rough! Past attempts at giving food/alcohol related items for Lent haven't gone so well, so hopefully I can do this!

Another thing I have been loving this week...leaving work and having it still be light out! It makes the days feel longer and not like I'm heading home just to put my baby to bed. These pretty sunsets on the way home weren't half bad either :0)

And finally, a little girlfriend get together for a "Gal"entine brunch on Saturday! When my girlfriend texted me about the idea I thought it was such a cute idea! A Valentine's Brunch for just your girlfriends! I'm sure there will be plenty of good food, booze and conversation and what's not to love about that!

Friday Faves

I started this last week and to be honest almost forgot! Here are a few of my favorites from this week:

Ladies + Babies. Several of my girlfriends and I all had babies around the same time, so once a month (give or take a little) we try and get all the littles together so they can play and the mamas can catch up and drink wine. We had a little Ladies+ Babies action last night and I so enjoy those nights!

I know I mentioned these already in my Valentine's Gift Guide: For Her but I am in love with these New Balance tennis shoes.

Another earlier mention, but also this pineapple pen holder is so cute and each time I look at it, I want it more and more!

I know I'm like a year late on this one, but I'm so very excited that they brought New York Seltzer back! I'm not a big soda drinker, but I enjoyed one of these bad boys for the first time in a good twenty years for lunch today and it brought back lots of memories of big flip bangs, leggings (which are still amazing today) and bad haircuts.

Again...about a million years late to this, but I had no idea there were free downloadable desktop backgrounds you can download for your computer. Discovered these little gems this week and I'm absolutely in love with my new desktop background at work! Makes my day that much brighter :)

I finally purchased a 2016 planner this week and I love it! It was only $7.99 at Target and my OCD loving heart is happy. I couldn't find the exact one online, but here's a similar one.

Finally, all of the Superbowl Recipes floating around the blogosphere as we get ready for game day! You can see some of my own Superbowl recipes here and be sure to check in next week when I recap my wings recipe and a Game Day Mimosa Bar!

Happy Friday Friends.

Friday Faves

happy friday! i saw this and literally LOL'd. although, i would never bench coffee, and who says you can only drink alcohol on the weekend! in my world, both are needed on a regular basis ;0)

plenty of the blogs i love and read regularly usually do a version of friday faves, and i thought it would be fun to start too! so here are a few of my favorites from this week and going into the weekend.

1. my mom sent me this today and i thought it was hysterical! it's a little sad that our political system is so far sideways that someone like donald trump can run as a serious candidate, but i guess you have to laugh while we still can.

2. i brought back my go-to breakfast smoothie this week and it has been hitting the spot!

3. i've been reading the fitnessista for years, but finally took the plunge and tried one of her winter shape up routines...i like it so far and my legs were burning.

4. Rosehip Oil - i ordered this rosehip oil about two weeks ago and have been using it to try and get rid of all the things that come with being a mama (think dark circles, worry lines, wrinkles!) and i can honestly say i think it's working! in the morning i mix a little in with my moisturizer and rub it all over. at night, i just use the rosehip oil and i think my skin is looking better than ever! you can read about the benefits of rosehip oil here.

5. wine pours as big as my face! i had a rough day yesterday, but after a nice large glass (or two) of some wine, i feel like a new (slightly hungover ;0p) woman today!

6. the freaking weekend! we've got some fun plans this weekend including hanging out with good friends and i can't wait to leave work and get our weekend started!

happy friday all!
