Peaches for you...Peaches for Me!

Apparently today is National Eat a Peach Day!

This is perfect timing because this past Saturday we headed back to one of our favorite places, Greenbluff, to pick peaches, blueberries and blackberries. My sister and her family joined us and we picked our weight in fruit! Lincoln was more excited about getting to see "baby Hudson" so it was a win win for everyone.

After picking for a couple hours, we headed over to Big Barn Brewing for a picnic lunch and a few beers for all the non-preggos. And we definitely have plenty o'peaches to eat on today's national holiday ;0) Below are pictures from our mini adventure!

And Baby...Makes Four!

We shared some exciting news on Instagram the other day! Baby Alexander #2 is set to arrive March 2018 and we could not be more excited!

Round 2 has proven to be a bit more difficult than Lincoln was, and I got hit with this weird gagging/morning sickness thing. I also just generally feel like I'm sick all the time and have definitely already whipped out the maternity gear as the bump and the weight seem to have appeared much quicker than last time. But all will be worth it when we're snuggling a sweet cuddly newborn next winter/spring.

Below are a few photos from our big surprise!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

We have been crossing items off our summer bucket list one at a time and Sunday night we completed another item on the list! We took Lincoln to his very first baseball game!

Sunday evening was kids night and Otto's birthday at the Spokane Indians, so excitedly purchased tickets and invited our baseball loving papa along to join in the fun. We made it a whole 8 innings, mostly due to the fact that they had several kids activities for the little ones to partake in. This meant that Kevin and I split time between actually watching the game and entertaining Lincoln, but I think fun was had by all.

Lincoln got to meet a ton of characters including Otto, Doris the dinosaur, Eastern's Eagle, the Chief's Boomer and more! He is in the most lovable phase right now where he wants to hug everyone he meets, so of course he went in for the kill with both Otto and Doris.

The game was a hit and I'm sure there will be plenty more in our future!

Huckleberry Adventures

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. On Saturday, we headed up to Schweitzer to pick the elusive huckleberry! Schweitzer was running a deal, where for $5 they'd take your whole party up to a part of the mountain that was covered in huckleberries. We jumped at the chance!

Huckleberries are wild berries, similar to blueberries but a bit tarter that grow in Idaho and Montana. They are hard to find and even more of a pain to pick, but they're so delicious and worth every minute! We picked for about an hour and a half and came home with a decent amount! And when I say "we" picked, I mean Kevin and I picked and Lincoln ate his weight in huckleberries! I've already made a huckleberry/blackberry crisp, huckleberry pancakes and huckleberry streusel muffins!

Below are a few photos from our mini huckleberry adventure.

ROAR! A Dinosaur Birthday Bash

This past weekend we celebrated Lincoln and his friend, Zeke's big 3rd birthday. The boys are 6 days apart, so we thought we'd combine forces and have all our friends over at once. Both boys are really into dinosaurs right now, so figuring out a theme was fairly easy. And like everyone in the universe these days, we turned to Pinterest for lots of fun party planning ideas!

We bought matching t-shirts for the boys to dress them in that day and they could not have been more excited about the big party! Lincoln has been talking about it for the past 6 weeks...pretty much since the day we told him about it, so expectations were set very high.

Morgan and I consolidated the decorations we had and just decided to go with as many colors as possible (to match all the very colorful dinosaurs of course) and set up dino birthday hats, dino lanterns and a big ROAR sign to take photos in front of. In addition, we lined the tables with all of the boys dinosaur toys and set up a dino excavation site in the yard, along with a kiddy pool and slip and slide for all the little ones to play with. Everything turned out great!

We did, have one minor hiccup with the food, when I realized that we forgot to turn the slow cooker on until halfway through the day, so our pulled pork was nowhere near ready when guests started to show up at 4PM. Luckily we had hot dogs for the kiddos along with a bunch of sides and most importantly CAKE, and even though some of the adults likely went home hungry, fun was had by all!

All in all, I think both boys really enjoyed their big day and we're so grateful for everyone who showed up to celebrate these two crazy kiddos!
