Valentine's Day Ideas

Most of us are still recovering from the post holiday Christmas rush, but I am a holiday lover, and can't wait for the next one on the list! Valentine's day is just a few weeks away and I'm already scheming of ways to incorporate a little bit of festiveness into our daily lives!

I've already picked up this adorable heart banner to hang by our fireplace. Lincoln found it a bit early, so it's actually already hung up in our living room! I can't find the link to the exact one, but this one is similar here.

Similar to last year, we'll be baking up some heart shaped Valentine's Day cookies with my favorite sugar cookie recipe. Pink frosting and red sprinkles are a must!

I love a good holiday book, and have made a point to try and get a new holiday themed book for each of the major holidays. This year I'm hoping to add A Crankenstein Valentine to Lincoln's collection.

And while my husband has declared a time out on holiday pajamas for the time being, these Gap and Old Navy jammies are the most adorable ones I've seen yet! A few years ago we got Lincoln the Love Machine jammies from the Gap and they were just about the cutest!

Finally, Kevin let me get a letterboard (which I'm so excited about) and I'm already scheming a few festive ways to incorporate it into our household decor for Valentine's Day.

Little Man Says...

Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone's weekend was full of the perfect mixture of fun, relaxations and "get stuff done."

Below are some of my favorite things Lincoln is saying these days:

Whenever Kevin and I are having a conversation...

Lincoln: Mama, mama, excuse me.

Me: Yes Lincoln.

Lincoln: After you tell daddy your story, it's my story.

Each time he wants to do something or play a new game: Mama, mama....I have an idea!

After reading the book The Day the Crayons Quit and more specifically the letter from peach crayon who just happens to be "naked" in the book:

Bahahahahah, he's naked! I want to be naked...hahahahaha. (He thinks it is the funniest thing, and it's pretty hysterical not to laugh along with him).

32 Week Bump (Baby #2)

Happy Friday! Hope everyone is gearing up for a fun and relaxing weekend. We don't have much on our calendars and I wouldn't have it any other way. Below is a quick update on 32 weeks and seeing how it's been 6 weeks since my last update, it's easy to say, time is flying!

Total Weight Gain: 16.1 lbs

Symptoms: Lots and lots of baby kicks! And now officially starting to feel huge...it's getting harder and harder to tie my shoes and the heartburn has kicked in. I'm a little swollen at the end of the day, but not nearly as a bad as I was at this point with Lincoln, so I'm hoping it's not as intense this time around.

Gender: Baby A Numero Dos is a boy! Can't wait to see these two brothers love on each other.

Nesting:
We are slowly creating a nursery and my mom purchased a crib for us this past week so we should have almost everything we need! Nursery isn't decorated yet, but I'm sure we'll start to get around to it over the next few weeks and I'll be sure to share photos when we do. I'm trying to re-use most of we had for Lincoln, but at the same time do a completely different theme, so we'll see how it all works out.

Lincoln's Thoughts: He's exited about the baby! Whenever we show him the baby moving or kicking, he runs and grabs his elephant lovey and sticks it up his shirt and says "look my baby kicking too!"

Are We Ready? Not even close! This babe can take its' sweet time cooking for a while but also, so ready (already) to be done being pregnant.

New Year's Weekend Recap

Happy Monday and Happy New Year's Day to all! We had a pretty laid back New Year's Eve, toddler style, so I thought it would be fun to just do one big New Year's weekend recap to start off 2018!

After spending several days winding down and being lazy to our hearts content (well, as lazy as a 3 year old will let you be), we started out our weekend with a trip downtown to Mobius while Kevin went and saw a movie. We spent a good 2 hours getting all of our energy out and it was the perfect time to go, before the crowds from the day hit. Lincoln and I had a ton of fun building a life-size Lincoln Log fort and it was definitely the hit of the trip!

That evening, we came home and Kevin and Lincoln got started on a little project we have planned for baby boy number two's nursery! Ready or not this new babe is coming in 10 weeks or less and we have a lot of work to do on his nursery.

Sunday was New Year's Eve! We spent all morning getting ready to have a fresh start on New Year's day. We took down all of our Christmas decor, did tons of laundry, including all of our sheets, etc. and did a major sweep of the entire house. It felt good to know we'd be starting off 2018 with a clean and organized house (and if you haven't guessed by now, I am most definitely Type A ;0p).

While Lincoln went down for a nap Saturday afternoon, we prepped for our mini at home NYE Bash! My girlfriend Amy came into town to spend New Year's Eve with us and we had hats, necklaces, noisemakers and lots of apps to share amongst the 4 of us! We popped the sparkling cider for Lincoln and myself (#preggoproblems) and Amy and Kevin sipped on some adult friendly beverages throughout the evening.

We did the Netflix New Year's Eve Countdown for Lincoln just before 8 PM (God Bless Netflix NYE countdowns) and after he went down, watched the movie New Year's Eve from 2012 (seemed fitting for the night) and got ready to watch the ball drop and cheer's to a New Year! Almost immediately after, we all crashed and went to bed.

Monday morning, Lincoln had us up bright and early per usual and we made homemade Belgian Waffles with homemade whip cream and bacon with a bunch of fun toppings (sprinkles, berries, chocolate chips, etc.) to start the New Year's off right! We spent the rest of the day lounging around and prepping to go back to work for the week (I could use 10 more days off in case anyone was wondering).

Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's! Cheers to 2018 and all that this year brings!
