EWU Homecoming

This past weekend was Eastern's Homecoming. Kevin will be graduating this December and we cannot wait for him to officially be an EWU Alumn.

We stole away for the football game while my parents took the boys and pretended we were college aged again. They played the University of Idaho Vandals and took the W! A few photos from our tailgate (since we never actually made it inside!).

To the Pumpkin Patch We Go!

Last weekend was our annual trip up to Greenbluff to pick our pumpkins! It was Finn's first pumpkin patch adventure and I think he's a fan. In year's past, we've had the entire family join us, but my mom has been battling pneumonia so she and my dad stayed back this year.

We headed up with my little sister, Sara, her husband and they're little one, Hudson. The boys had so much fun! We made sure to grab pumpkin and huckleberry donuts, rode the train and tractor, hit up not one, but two giant slides and took more pictures than necessary.

After we had our pumpkins and donuts, we headed over to Big Barn Brewing for lunch, beers and music before heading back into town.

That evening, my parents came over for dinner and we watched Hocus Pocus (a must!) and ate way too much food. We carved Lincoln's pumpkin, but saved most of the carving for Sunday because we had such a busy day enjoying Greenbluff. The weather was perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better day to go on!

Walla Walla Wine Weekend

Two weeks ago a group of girlfriends and I headed down to Walla Walla for a girls wine tasting weekend. It was so much fun!

Everything fell into place perfectly. The house we stayed in, the tour we booked, even the weather played along! We stayed in the cutest little VRBO, complete with a wine barrel bedroom, outdoor fire place and pool.

The tour/driver we booked was wonderful. She was informative, funny and even played as our own personal paparrazi! The second winery we visited, the assistant wine maker ended up being someone we (sort of ) knew through our grade school and high school days. He treated us to a personal tour and barrel tasting. It was a dream come true!

In true fashion, I took way too many photos...most of which I'm sharing here with you today. We visited Amavi Cellars, Saviah, NorthStar and Va Piano Vineyards. If you find yourself in Walla Walla, you're in for a treat!

2018 Family Photos

It's my most favorite time of the year! Family photo time. And because I can never keep a secret very long, I'm sharing with you today instead of waiting till Christmas card season! (Note to self, maybe wait to take Christmas card photos till December ;0p).

So without further ado...a glimpse at this year's family photos, taken by Mica Sansaver.

Celebrating Six Years

Last weekend (September 22nd) Kevin and I celebrated six years of being hitched! We spent the day playing in downtown Spokane.

We had originally planned to go out to Silverwood to act like we were kids again, but instead decided to stay in town and hit up several new places that have opened in the past year (or two or three) that we haven't had a chance to try out since we have two kiddos.

We started our day, grabbing lunch at Cochinita downtown. The tacos, chips and guacamole were so good! It was a bit pricey for the amount of food, but definitely worth it. Afterwards we hopped on a couple of Lime Scooters and spent 20 minutes or so, scooting around downtown Spokane. It was so fun!

After lunch and scooting, we headed up to Bellwether Brewing on Monroe. A fairly new brewery that Kevin has been dying to try. After a sampler platter and one full beer, we headed down to Blvd Mercantile where I scored an awesome vintage sweater!

Our next stop was MaryHill Winery's new satellite tasting room in Kendall Yards. It's the first satellite tasting room for the winery and it did not disappoint! The view of the Centennial Trail and Spokane River were beautiful and the winery itself is very nice.

After wine tasting it was off to dinner! We hit up the Globe, not because it's new, but because it's changed ownership the past few years and has becoming a much younger, hipper place to be and we wanted to see the changes. It is definitely for the younger crowd! We felt so old being in there, but dinner was good and that's what mattered haha.

After dinner we headed home and called it a night.

Finn || Seven Months

Finn is seven months old today! He is still the happiest baby on the block and is turning into a quite the champion snuggler. He's weighing in at around 19.9 lbs and around 28.5 inches long and is still a beast when it comes to size.

This month kicked off his first encounter with daycare. The first few days were rough, but he's adjusting fairly well and fairly quickly which we are very grateful for. Of course, with daycare comes the onslaught of germs and he has also spent a good portion of this past month fighting one cold after another. It breaks my heart to see him suffer, but he smiles right through it.

Finn took his second trip out to the island this month, and we went up to Greenbluff for his first apple picking trip. We'll be spending a bunch more time up there as part of all of the holiday fun that's only just beginning.

He is sitting like a pro, babbling a way and is starting to scoot/slide to get around. Not crawling yet, but those legs are kicking and working and I'm sure we're not too far off from having a crawler. He loves to stand and bounce and giggle the day away. I am in so much awe of how happy he is almost all of the time.

Sleep is still a struggle for us. We have finally weaned him off the night time bottle but he still looks for it in the middle of the night so some nights are harder than others when it comes to getting him to go to sleep and stay asleep. He hasn't transitioned to his crib yet and naps are still very short unless he's being held. Hopefully this month he'll learn to nap a little long, self sooth a little better and soon the transition to the crib can begin.

Finn is absolutely obsessed with his big brother Lincoln and just wants to stare and play with him all day long. He watches Lincoln so intently and you can see his little brain working to try and figure him out. I sure hope they continue to love each other as intensely as they currently do.

We are in thick of it right now with school and work and holidays quickly approaching. I am very much hoping that time slows down as Finn is growing up way too fast. It feels like I blinked and we hit 7 months. As always, I can't wait to see what the next month brings!

And here's a look at Lincoln's seven month update as well!
