Hat Island 2017

This past weekend, we took our first trip of the summer out to Hat Island. It did not disappoint! Kevin stayed back to play in Hoopfest, so Lincoln and I headed out on our own along with my friend, Amy.

I was a little leary of our first long car trip with a newly potty trained Lincoln, but he was a rockstar! We brought our little traveling toilet with us and I'm happy to report had zero accidents the entire time! I think he's really got this potty thing down.

Anyways, we left Saturday morning and made the trek across the state, caught the ferry on time and made our way down to beach all before 5 PM. Lincoln LOVED building sand castles and dipping his toes in the water. We're still not quite brave enough to go all the way in (and let's be honest, that water is COLD), but we are getting there!

We spent Saturday through Tuesday on the island, with my mom, Amy, Lincoln and myself and just enjoyed the sunshine, good food and yummy drinks. I also sufficiently introduced Lincoln to "Cocktail Time" and I'm pretty sure he's now going to associate chocolate milk with cocktails for the rest of his life, hah!

On Tuesday morning, we caught a ride back with one of my mom's friends in her boat and the ride was bumpy! The weather turned a bit on Tuesday and the water was really choppy. Lincoln was not a fan of the big waves and bumps and clung to me for the entire boat ride, but we made it safe and sound. Once we got across, we met up with my brother, Griffin, to check out his new ride, and enjoy lunch before hitting the road back to Spokane!

It was a great first trip!

More Hat Island trips here, here, here, here and here!

Soccer Fun!

We recently enrolled Lincoln in Soccer Tots. He had his first practice the other night, and it was honestly the cutest thing I have ever seen!

He was so excited to wear his little shin guards, bring his brand new water bottle and new soccer ball on Tuesday night! We picked them up the weekend before and he couldn't stop talking about them over and over until we got there. We signed him up with one of his best little toddler friends, Zeke, and the boys went to town!

I was super impressed with how well run it was considering there were a bunch of 2 and 3 year olds running around. They managed to take them through a number of age appropriate "drills" and the kids were able to follow along really well.

After soccer and a few games of wrestling between Zeke and Lincoln (so cute now! we'll see in a few years ;0p) we took the boys to ice cream! It was the perfect way to end their first soccer practice and celebrate summer solstice!

Welcome Baby Hudson!

Last week, my little sister welcomed the most precious baby boy into the world! Hudson James Hyde was born on June 13, 2017 weighing in at a mighty 6 lbs 3 oz and 20.5 inches long. He is the cutest baby we've seen in a long time and Lincoln is so stoked to have a new baby cousin.

He has not stopped asking about "baby Hudson" since the two met last Saturday and we can't wait to visit him again! Below are a few pics of the newest addition to the family!

Father's Day 2017

Happy Monday! Hope everyone enjoyed a nice weekend celebrating the dads in their lives. We sure had fun celebrating ours!

Lincoln and I woke up early on Sunday to prep breakfast in bed for Kevin. Kevin's not very good at sleeping in and Lincoln's not very good at surprises (hah!) so we did our best to bring dad coffee, presents and breakfast all before 9 AM. After breakfast and presents, we spent some time cleaning the house and doing yard work before all laying down for a nap!

We all napped because we had big plans for that afternoon!

Once we were all awake we headed out to Big Barn Brewing! We spent last Father's Day up at Big Barn as well and I think we've started a new Father's Day tradition. Big Barn is a small, local craft brewery up in Greenbluff. Every Sunday in the summer they open up their tasting room, host live music and bring in food trucks. It was a blast!

We spent almost 4 hours up at Big Barn before calling it a night and heading back home. We wrapped up the evening and put little man to bed before calling it a night ourselves.

Little Man Says

It's time for the most recent rendition of What Little Man Says! I've got some good ones this time around so be prepared to laugh your little heart out. Lincoln is on a role and is saying the funniest things these days.

Since learning that we're throwing a joint birthday party with his bestie:

Birfday party, me, zeke, cake, zeke, me , birthday!

When he walked into kiss me one morning...

Lincoln: (kisses) ohhh stinky.

Me: You made a stinky? Did you poop?

Lincoln: No, mama stinky. (Apparently he doesn't like my morning breath. Noted Lincoln)

Said about literally any small child in our near vicinity:

My best friend? Best friend!

Toddlers have the best ways of delaying bedtime! Lincoln's new line (because he knows it melts my heart and I'll let him say it over and over again) at bedtime after reading our stories:

Me: Goodnight, I love you.

Lincoln: Arms stretched high into the air...I love you dis much! Dis much! I love you dis much!" (on repeat)

As I was putting him down one night:

Me: Lincoln did you chill with your homies today?

Lincoln: Yea....chillin with homies mama (I am loving that he repeats everything these day (sometimes haha!)

When Kevin went to discipline him the other night:

Kevin: Lincoln, Time out please.

Lincoln: Bad Daddy. Go away. Bad daddy.

{House #2 Update} New Living Room!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a fun weekend. We had a busy one for sure, but the most exciting part was that our new furniture arrived!

Coffe Table and End Table are Hand Me Downs from my parents but I believe they are from World Market!

When we bought house number two it needed some work. Ok, that's an understatement, it needed A LOT of work. And over the past 8 months or so, we have been busy little bees. Before we even moved in, we had the entire exterior painted including the garage. We also remodeled the bathroom (everything except the tub and toilet are new!) painted, put in new carpets in the basement, new floors in the kitchen, a few new appliances (fridge and stove!) and have been slowly working on the backyard ( I should do a backyard update because Kevin has done wonders here!) We still have a long way to go, but things are really starting to shape up!

Most recently, we re-did all of the floors on the main floor as well as purchased some new furniture. There are still a few things to do (trim, transition pieces for the floors) and purchase (a plant for the corner, some coffee table books and a few odds and ends) but everything is turning out so well, i thought I'd share some photos!

I tried to link to stores of any of the most recent purchases in the photos below!

Loveseat (It doesn't look like they have the above color (light grey) available anymore, but similar style is here)

Lamps (New) and Shades (New) Bar (Old, but similar style here)

Mirror (new) and Carpet (new) Similar here
