You better believe that right after Thanksgiving ended, I put my Christmas party pants on and dove straight into all things full of festive and cheer. We started our first official holiday weekend with a trip downtown to see Spokane light up the big tree in Riverfront Park.
They had a band, photo ops and Santa was there with the local fire fighters. In addition the skating rink was open for people to ice skate all evening. We had our picture taken with Santa and both little boys were fascinated. A few photos below!

EWU Homecoming
This past weekend was Eastern's Homecoming. Kevin will be graduating this December and we cannot wait for him to officially be an EWU Alumn.
We stole away for the football game while my parents took the boys and pretended we were college aged again. They played the University of Idaho Vandals and took the W! A few photos from our tailgate (since we never actually made it inside!).

Junior Fire Academy
This past weekend, downtown Spokane in partnership with the Spokane County Fire Department held a free Junior Fire Academy for kids of all ages. To say it was a must do event for our fire truck loving four year old is an understatement!
Two of his best buds from school also attended and the three of them together had so much fun!
We ended up arriving about 30 minutes early and were greeted with an early fire truck tour all by ourselves! One of the firefighters, Tanner, came up to Lincoln and took him through all of the bells and whistles on one of the ladder trucks. Lincoln got to jump up in the drivers seat and enjoyed every minute of his personal tour.
Once the crowds started to show there were a few lines we had to wait in, but it was definitely worth the wait to watch the kids have so much fun running through the fire fighter obstacle course they set up for them. After completing all of the activities on their passport, they earned a Junior Firefighter Certificate and a free slice of pizza from David's pizza.
Lincoln had a blast! We even managed to snag a photo of Firefighter Finn too!

Sweet Summertime || Backyard S'Mores
This summer has been flying by! It seems that every single weekend has been booked up with something and yet, at the same time, when I try and think back on everything we did this summer, there are only a handful of events I can actually remember.
Is this what old age is like? Please don't tell me so, because I don't want to forget a single thing!
Fortunately, this past weekend was a slow one and we spent most of it at home. Saturday evening, we bought the fixings to make s'mores in our backyard fireplace and it was the perfect way to spend a summer evening. The temperature had finally dipped back down into the low 80s as well, so it was actually bearable to be outside. Below are a few pictures from our evening making s'mores!

Lake Days
We live in an area with access to almost 10 different lakes. It's a beautiful area for sure. A few weekends ago some friends of ours invited us out on their boat and we jumped at the chance! Below are a few photos of all the fun we had, including swimming, tubing and boating!

Mother's Day 2018
Nothing brings you back to reality like the Monday after Mother's Day...am I right?
This past Sunday my boys treated me to sleeping in, coffee in bed, a new pair of birkenstocks (!!!) and an evening picnic in the park. It was the sweetest!
Mother's Day kicked off Friday when Lincoln brought home the sweetest little hand cutout and bracelet that he made at school for me. Those little school crafts the kids make for Mother's Day and Father's Day and really any holiday are just the sweetest! And of course, because he can't keep a surprise, he walked in the door from school and promptly told me he had a present for me and that I had to open it right away!
Fast forward to Sunday where I got to sleep in till 8!!! It doesn't sound late, but when your normal wake up call is around 5:45 am (when do they start to sleep in?!?!) 8 am seems like 11! All three of my boys snuck off to get me a coffee from a local coffee shop and brought it to me in bed. Once we were up, showered and had attended mass, we headed downtown so I could pick out my new birkenstocks (I have been wanting a pair for a year now!). Nordstrom's didn't have the color/style I wanted, so we went back home and I ordered them directly from the birkenstock store online. Hopefully they'll arrive this week!
It was a busy morning, and kiddos were getting fussy, so Lincoln and I laid down for a nap (more sleep!) while Kevin took Finn and Porter for a walk. After a long afternoon nap, we were ready for our picnic in the park! Kevin picked out all my favorites: Rose, Caprese, Apples and Sharp Cheddar and we enjoyed a fun little evening in the park before bringing the kiddos back home for bed time.
It was a wonderful Mother's Day!
