Put Your Hands Up!!! || A Cops & Robbers themed 5th Birthday Party

A few weeks ago, Lincoln turned five. FIVE!! Five seems so old to me!

We celebrated his birthday with friends and family at a nearby park with a Cops and Robbers themed birthday party. It was easy to put together thanks to some great finds at Etsy and the party store and even easier clean up thanks to not having it at our house!

At five years old, Lincoln has grown up so much and is the very best five year old I know. He's kind, inquisitive, extremely sensitive and is determined to be the best big brother he can be. He loves his family and friends fiercely and has a very distinct definition of right and wrong. He's strong-willed and stubborn, but always willing to share with his friends and little brother.

He gets easily frustrated when he can't do something and sometimes his self-confidence wavers, but I hope that he knows he can learn and do anything he puts his mind to with a little bit of patience and perseverance.

Because he is a young 5 year old (summer birthday!), we're spending one year in Pre-K before moving on to Kindergarten and I can't see what this year will bring for our little guy. His mind is incredible, he can put complex legos together, really seems to "get" numbers, even doing simple addition and subtraction already, but he struggles a bit with letters and the alphabet. I'm confident this extra year of Pre-K will help boost his confidence before he starts school next fall and can't wait to watch him grow!

Soccer Fun!

We recently enrolled Lincoln in Soccer Tots. He had his first practice the other night, and it was honestly the cutest thing I have ever seen!

He was so excited to wear his little shin guards, bring his brand new water bottle and new soccer ball on Tuesday night! We picked them up the weekend before and he couldn't stop talking about them over and over until we got there. We signed him up with one of his best little toddler friends, Zeke, and the boys went to town!

I was super impressed with how well run it was considering there were a bunch of 2 and 3 year olds running around. They managed to take them through a number of age appropriate "drills" and the kids were able to follow along really well.

After soccer and a few games of wrestling between Zeke and Lincoln (so cute now! we'll see in a few years ;0p) we took the boys to ice cream! It was the perfect way to end their first soccer practice and celebrate summer solstice!

Little Man Style - Valentine's Day Edition

valentine's day is less than a month away so this version of little man style is all about love day. i started this last week.  i'm posting items from little man's wardrobe or items i'm hoping to add to his wardrobe now that we've grown out of all of the pre-purchased baby items we received from friends and family.

since valentine's day is less than a month away, i thought it would be fun to do a valentine's day version. here you go!

1. Robo Heart PJ Set  - lincoln's valentine's day gift is this adorable wood magnetic robot that he can take apart and build. i fell in love with these robo heart pajamas from the gap and have already scooped them up for him to wear throughout february! and how cute will it be when he opens his robot wearing his robot pj's on valentines day morning!

2. Red Chambray Shirt  - i mentioned last month how much i love chambray and this red chambray shirt is so cute! it would be the perfect shirt to wear on valentine's day!

3. Dark Denim Flannel Cuff Jeans - apparently i really like flannel cuffed pants for our little guy because i picked out two pairs this month that i'm hoping to add to his wardrobe!

4. Red Converse - lincoln recieved these adorable red converse from his aunt amy and cousin ocean for christmas a little over a month ago. you better believe he'll be wearing these through out the month of february!

5. Heart Breaker Graphic T - i love a good graphic t and this one is no different! our little man is quite the heartbreaker if you ask me ;0)

6. Flannel Lined Khakis - please see #3 to understand my love of a good flannel cuff.
