Life Lately || A Photo Dump!

I blinked and we're already half way through April! We started out March with over 6 feet of snow in our front yard, then we had 60+ degree weather and now we've settled into the typical spring rainy weather.

We've done our best to get outside here and there when we could along with other adventures. Below are photos from life lately including a few trips to the park, Riverfront Park's Ice Ribbon (turned scoot ribbon in the summer!), cruising around in our VW bus, a trip to Donut Parade, Date night for Kevin and I, a special dinner with my parents, and some new home updates! That's been life in a nutshell the past few weeks!

Life Lately || January and February 2019

Life with two littles is busy, but I've come to love writing up about our daily lives and preserving our memories here. So, because it's been a while, here's a little glimpse into what we've been up to lately!

We had one beautiful weekend where the sun was shining so brightly we just had to get outside. It was cold, really cold, and three of the four of us were fighting sinus infections, but I think the sunshine did us all some good this weekend.

We braved a full week where daddy had to head to Montana for a work trip. Both boys were troopers because I was in full on survival mode. It helped when we were sent fun photos of daddy hard at work!

Lincoln and I had a special mommy/son date and headed to the Lion King! His first broadway show was a HUGE hit and I can't wait to make more and more memories with him. We dressed up, went down for dinner just the two of us at The Onion and then headed off to see the show, which was amazing!

Finn got hit with RSV and we spent a full week at home trying to get the little dude back in fighting shape. I worked from home one day, and we were lucky enough to have my parents help out the remainder of the week.

We also got hit with a MAJOR snowstorm and we're smack dab in the middle of it still. This includes delayed school starts and possible school closures. Grateful for family close by to help out with the boys and flexible employers who allow us to come in late and/or work from home when needed.

It's been a fun January and February and I can't wait to see what's next!

Life Lately || April 2018

Time is flying and there have been several times throughout the month of April where I wanted to post an update on the blog with all the fun we've had, but #twokids. So, instead of posting each and every update separately, I thought it would be best to just do a quick life update from the month of April! 

The weather has finally been getting warmer, so we've spent a ton of time at the park. Earlier this month, we ventured out to the Discovery Playground out in the Valley. It was our first time out there and it was a hit! We will definitely be back for more fun.

April is Kevin's birthday month! We had a low key celebration at home with homemade cake and a few small presents. That weekend, my parents generously offered to take Lincoln overnight and Finn for a few hours so we could have a little date night in. We made dinner, watched The Greatest Showman, and made a few cocktails before picking up Finn and calling it a night. The next day we scooped up Lincoln as well and headed out for donuts! 

As I mentioned above, we've spent a lot of time at the park...we've also been spending our fair share of time watching and waiting for the garbage man...a highlight of the week for Lincoln! Walking back to the house from the park one day it was prime garbage man watching time and Lincoln chased down each garbage truck as it passed. It was pretty cute to watch! By the time we got back to the house, he had to run out to greet the garbage truck as it approached our house as well.

 A friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer last Fall. The diagnosis was quite a surprise. They tackled the diagnosis with a pretty aggressive treatment plan, and she is coming up on her last day of treatment. To celebrate she gathered a group of friends and their kiddos to walk in the Pink Ribbon 5K, our town's local breast cancer charity. Lincoln tagged along and we had a fun morning walking with friends!

We rounded out the month with some quality family time...hanging out with my sister and Finn and Lincoln's cousin, Hudson.  Hudson will be one in June and he has grown so much in the past year! He recently started crawling so it was fun for Lincoln to see him follow him around a bit.

And lastly, these two photos are just random ones I took the other day, but I love them so much of my little dude so I thought I'd throw them in for fun ;) 

Weekend Recap

Hello hello! It's been a while since I've done a weekend recap, but we had not one, but TWO park adventures this weekend, along with a trip downtown to Mobius and to check out the St. Paddy's Day parade. All that's to say, it was a fun one....AND I took a bunch of photos. So weekend recap it is!

I am so thankful that it is finally staying late enough in the evenings to get a walk in before dinner. Friday evening, we walked down to the park so Lincoln could play on the swings and we could get the wiggles out. The snow is starting to melt and the weather has been in the upper 40s so we basically thought is was spring haha!

Saturday, we headed downtown to Mobius to play for a bit before heading out to catch some of the parade. I shared more pictures here, but it's safe to say little man is officially a fan of parades. As soon as he realized it meant free candy and big trucks, he was all about it. We actually had to make him leave because it was nap time and starting to rain.

On Sunday the sun was shining bright and early so we headed back down to the park again. We went to check out the new playground they built and while there was still a ton of snow on the ground, little man enjoyed climbing on the new climbing gym, along with going down the slides and spending some time on the swings.

Work has been crazy busy lately and I'm constantly feeling like I'm being pulled in multiple directions at once, but the longer days, sunshine, and trips to the park made me feel better, even if I was having to respond to work emails in between each little trip.
